Visit Disneyland Resort: MagicBand+

Not too many people had  MagicBand+  at Disneyland Resort, from what I noticed, but that didn't stop us from getting them.   You can use the MagicBand+ to scan into the entry gates or scan your Lightning Lane passes.  No need to take out your phone and open up the Disneyland app or your photos app for a screenshot of your admission ticket or Lightning Lane pass.  It's easy to sync the MagicBand+ to everyone in your party through the Disneyland app. It's rechargeable, and one full charge is supposed to last 1-3 days, but we'd charge them at the end of each night. A looking-glass reflecting the urban energy and captivating history that is Chicago, the newest hotel of the globally recognized Renaissance Hotel brand, located at 1 West Wacker Drive, will set a new standard of discovery, provoking both guests and locals’ interests to explore the modern outlook that has defined the Windy City.

Merging the business of the Loop with the pleasure of State Street and Chicago’s Theater District, Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel invites discovery at every turn.  Upon arrival, the innovative lobby will immediately enthrall guests with its abundance of elements and unique pockets perfect for independent exploration including - VIP Club Lounge, Artist Studio, Staytion, Coffee Bar and Library.  Indigenous touch points are both subtly and boldly infused into the design to radiate the high energy, whimsical character and ebullience of Chicago - such as the “Y”, a historically significant symbol to native Chicagoans.

The high-low mix design features experiential works of art intriguing the discoverer’s participation. CTA bus-inspired windows from the early 1900s serve as a gateway into the Chef’s display kitchen at Staytion; wallpaper and elevator lobby artwork illustrate the Chicago “L” map, immersing guests in the heart of the city’s transportation system; life-size photos and sculptures boast embedded elements allowing people to become a physical part of the artwork themselves; a multi-dimensional mural of pencils depicting a city cab and more. Even the lobby pillars are works of art, each featuring a different part of a taxi cab, which blend together harmoniously to form one single image from certain perspectives.

Located in the middle of the lobby will be the Navigator, a modern twist on the traditional concierge to complement the modern explorer’s on-the-go lifestyle. These dedicated experts uncover spots that only a local would know, and help to facilitate discovery by trading in the usual tourist activities for unique, interactive experiences.

Stair seating creates a perfect perspective for the hotel’s signature Renaissance Presents events. A true sensory adventure transporting guests to a life less ordinary, Renaissance Presents Events enhances the element of discovery with live events in the lobby with entertainment from local emerging artists. Renaissance Presents features everything from music, book signings, mixology demos, wine tastings, art exhibits and more.

Discoverers will have the opportunity to unwind and revitalize their minds and bodies in one of the 520 guestrooms and 40 suites. Guestrooms have all received new soft and select case goods with brand new tile floors in the guest bathrooms. The suites have been completely renovated boasting unique amenities with marble accents and stunning views of downtown Chicago.
