Visit Disneyland Resort: MagicBand+

Not too many people had  MagicBand+  at Disneyland Resort, from what I noticed, but that didn't stop us from getting them.   You can use the MagicBand+ to scan into the entry gates or scan your Lightning Lane passes.  No need to take out your phone and open up the Disneyland app or your photos app for a screenshot of your admission ticket or Lightning Lane pass.  It's easy to sync the MagicBand+ to everyone in your party through the Disneyland app. It's rechargeable, and one full charge is supposed to last 1-3 days, but we'd charge them at the end of each night. Another fun thing about the MagicBand+ is that it'll blink and flash in all sorts of colors depending on where you are, whether at certain rides or shows.  You can also use to link PhotoPass photos and other experiences. It's totally not a necessary thing to have, but it's a nice-to-have for the convenience.   One thing I did read prior to getting them is that they have a tende...

The Jolly Oyster Offers a Break from the Daily Grind for Locals and Travelers

It sits on the Pacific Ocean, between Santa Barbara and Malibu, and has the nickname “City of Good Fortune.” Ventura. A quirky and laid back beach town located about an hour north of Los Angeles. The vibe of this city is completely all its own, which is why it’s so fitting that The Jolly Oyster decided to call it home.

The Jolly Oyster’s Shuck Shack is a place where locals and up-the-coast travelers can take a break from the daily grind to dine on oysters, soak up sunshine and take a dip in the pacific. The blue trailer, parked near the water at San Buenaventura State Beach Park, has been shelling out sustainably farmed Pacific oysters as well as Manila clams, all from a Baja farm. For $1.25 an oyster, guests can shuck or grill the shellfish themselves at the park just off the beach.

Picnic tables and barbecue grills are available, as well as sauces and bags of briquets. The Jolly Oyster gives diners instruction and guidance in a very relaxed atmosphere that brings you closer to your food. They are BYOB and the park is dog friendly (on a leash). If you'd like them to prepare your shellfish for you, they do so separately out of The Jolly Oyster Kitchen.

Tips for Picnickers:

Bring -

- An oyster knife and a clean cloth or gloves to shuck the oysters.
- For the clams, a pan and a nice loaf of French bread (perfect for sopping up the broth).
- Wine and beer (allowed in the State Park).
- Sauces, salads, vegetables, cheeses, fruit
- They have oyster knives, sauces, lemons and charcoal for purchase.

The Jolly Oyster Market is located at San Buenaventura State Beach Park or 901 San Pedro St, Ventura, CA 93001
