Telluride Ski Resort Partners with SweetWater Brewing and Telluride Brewing Companies

Today, Telluride Ski Resort announced that SweetWater Brewing Company and Telluride Brewing Company will be the exclusive beer sponsors of the resort. As part of the partnership, SweetWater and Telluride Brewing Company beers will be prominently featured at all of Telluride Ski Resort’s on-mountain restaurants and will be served at upcoming events throughout the ski season.

“Telluride Ski Resort strives to work with companies having local ties, which makes SweetWater and Telluride Brewing the perfect partners for us,” said Alex Brown, events and sponsorship manager at Telluride Ski Resort. “One of the most memorable things we can provide as a resort is a top-notch guest experience, and working with local companies enhances that experience, providing visitors with a sense of what Telluride is truly about.”

SweetWater Brewing Company is one of the nation’s fastest growing craft breweries, and the company started distributing and sponsoring events in Telluride this past summer. This partnership will continue to drive brand awareness throughout Colorado. SweetWater’s founder and “Big Kahuna”, Freddy Bensch, has long-standing roots in Colorado, starting his career in brewing as an employee at Boulder Beer, Colorado’s first microbrewery.

“Further establishing our presence in Telluride is a huge priority for us, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Telluride Ski Resort,” said Bensch. “We’ve seen a tremendous response from visitors and locals to our beer and I’m excited to continue sharing that with Telluride for a long time to come.”

Telluride Brewing Company is looking to expand their awareness outside of Colorado, and for co-founder Tommy Thacher, the hometown opportunity is a full circle experience. “Like so many locals, I moved to Telluride for the ski culture, and have spent the majority of my winters on this mountain,” said Thacher. “The mountain is incredibly special to me, this whole town and the community. So to be able to partner with Telluride Ski Resort, further that relationship, build our brand with theirs and reach a broader audience – it’s a dream come true.”

The partnership between the two brewing companies and the ski resort spotlights a continued trend of consumers looking for specialized offerings during their travels to help create memorable experiences that will keep them coming back year after year. Having specialized options specific to an area and thinking of this when selecting an on-mountain beverage sponsor is one small way to continue to make a strong larger impression on guests.

In addition to being featured at all on-mountain restaurants, SweetWater and Telluride Brewing Company beers will be served at events taking place at the resort, and there will be additional, smaller events such as beer tastings, announced as the season approaches. Some of the beers on tap will include SweetWater’s award-winning flagship brand, 420 Extra Pale Ale, and the award-winning Telluride Brewing Company Face Down Brown Ale. Other beers will be rotated through taps at restaurants throughout the resort, and canned and bottled options will be available as well.

Telluride Ski Resort kicks off its 2015-2016 ski season on Thursday, November 26th, and will offer SweetWater and Telluride Brewing Company beers across the resort all season long.
