An exhibition of work by the best-known photographer in American history will open at Reynolda House Museum of American Art March 11. “Ansel Adams: Eloquent Light” will be on view at Reynolda House—its only venue—through July 17, 2016.
“This exhibition is being organized especially for our museum,” said Allison Perkins, executive director of Reynolda House. “Not only was Ansel Adams a widely popular photographer, he was a respected artist and activist. We wanted to bring together his work here in North Carolina, in an exhibition that will showcase his incredible artistic skill along with his environmental advocacy.”
In February, Reynolda House announced that due to early demand, advance ticket purchase for the exhibition would be available starting Feb. 18. In the first few days tickets were available, more than 150 were sold. The museum is encouraging visitors to purchase tickets in advance, but it is not required. In the case that the exhibition gallery reaches capacity, the museum will allow online ticket holders and members of the museum to advance to the front of the line.
Admission to the exhibition is included in Reynolda House general admission. Tickets are available online at reynoldahouse.org/anseladams. Admission is $14 for adults, and free for children, students with ID, active military, and members of the museum.
Reynolda House has created limited-edition “Ansel Adams: Eloquent Light” merchandise for the exhibition that will be available for purchase at the Museum Store. The museum also created an exhibition “field guide,” which includes an exhibition poster. The “field guide” is included with the exhibition ticket, while supplies last.
