Light Up Your Holidays at JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa

‘Tis the season of light, and JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa offers guests a holiday experience unlike any other. Travelers will be illuminated with activities and events that will build lasting memories from their stay during true Texas Hill Country holiday celebrations. The resort is also offering special holiday packages designed to help guests relax, rejoice, revel and regenerate during the often times exhausting holiday season.

Between November 19 and December 31, 2016, the resort will bask in the magic of the holiday season. The luminous holiday festivities commence Saturday, November 19 with a “Light Up the Night” guest experience that includes the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus to officially light the beginning of the holiday season at the JW Marriott San Antonio Resort by flipping the switch the first time for the resort’s annual light show celebration.

The spectacular light show and tree lighting ceremony is a heartwarming tradition featuring thousands of twinkling lights choreographed to joyous holiday sounds. Before the season officially begins, children are invited to decorate pre-made cardboard JW Elf Express train cars. The twinkling wonderland dazzles and delights as Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Elves lead children with their decorated train cars on the Elf Express in a family parade to the resort’s new River Bend Pavilion for a magical evening of holiday activities including cookie decorating, ornament making, letters to Santa, and a holiday sing-a-long. After “Light Up the Night” train cars will be available for children to decorate for a nightly parade each Saturday through December 24th.

Whether in town visiting loved ones, treating the whole family to a winter getaway or escaping for a romantic weekend, guests will discover everything they need to make extraordinary memories this holiday season at this premier Texas Hill County resort. A resort credit package is offered to travelers to enjoy $50 of resort credit every day of the trip.

Featuring luxurious resort accommodations with every package, vacationers can fuel the fun in elegant guest rooms blending sophisticated style and modern functionality. Chic accommodations will enchant travelers, while beautiful balconies will beckon them to take in stunning views of Hill Country vistas. Plush bedding, high-speed Internet access, 37-inch flat-panel TVs and cozy bathrobes are among the many gracious amenities guests will love. While it may be difficult for travelers to leave the comfort of luxurious guest rooms, the Hill Country resort will make it more than tempting with numerous festive events for all ages available at the resort this holiday season.

JW Marriott’s talented Experience Team organizes memorable holiday activities that engender the wonder of the holidays in children of all ages. Elf Express Trains on Parade invites young travelers to decorate and board their very own pre-assembled cardboard rail car for a magical locomotive parade. The Sandy Snowman Building Contest brings the snow country to the Hill Country when all ages are invited to the River Bend sandy beach area on Saturday mornings to build each person’s own version of Frosty the Sandman.

Who needs a wine sommelier when the North Pole has sent their Candy Cane sommelier to lead all good girls and boys in the fine art of making a favorite confectionary holiday treat? This sweet and fun experience will be offered every Saturday afternoon between November 19th and December 24th. Participants will make their own customized candy canes to take home and give others or savor themselves after they leave their resort holiday. Families will be invited to decorate gingerbread cookies and Alamo Gingerbread Houses together as they learn about the San Antonio missions’ designation as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Families will get a jolly start to their day when attending a special Breakfast with Santa & Mrs. Claus at 18 Oaks, the resort’s restaurant located inside TPC Country Club. Saturdays through December 24, 2016, visitors are invited to make reservations to enjoy a fun-filled breakfast with the North Pole natives while indulging in a delectable buffet filled with rich flavors and morning favorites for every taste.

The magic of the season will come alive nightly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in JW Marriott’s own backyard through Dec. 31, 2016 as an outdoor wonderland comes to life with the lights and sounds of the season. Open to guests and non-guests, this complimentary experience plays for 10 minutes every 20 minutes. Vacationers will also be able to enjoy the resort’s 9-acre water park featuring heated pools, two thrilling new body slides; three water slides and a 1,200-foot long lazy river.
