The Great White North celebrates its 150th anniversary this year and there is no better way for adventurers to celebrate (and avoid the crowds!) than in the saddle. Experts in handcrafting mountain biking vacations worldwide, H+I Adventures offers two iconic Canadian adventures with an active twist in 2017: Wild Yukon & Secret Trails of British Columbia. Each locally-guided bike tour is made for mountain bikers who want to ride the destination’s lesser-known, but equally mind-blowing trails, whilst immersing themselves in the local culture and history of each diverse wilderness. Small group departures are available throughout July, August and September.
Wild Yukon
Located in Canada’s wild north-west, the Yukon is most famous for the Klondike Gold Rush of the 1800s. The local First Nations community has taken advantage of the abandoned trails beaten by the prospectors and turned them into their own kind of gold - mountain biking gold.
H+I Adventures takes travelers high into Canada’s alpine mountains where they will be greeted by knock-out vistas and, if they're lucky, encounters with wild caribou and bears. Never riding the same piece of trail twice, intermediate mountain bikers follow the path of gold prospectors and navigate the 800km trail network near Carcross. The bike tour includes canoeing down the famous Yukon River, spotting eagles, and sampling local craft beers at Yukon Brewing. Accommodation is provided in a remote mountain ranch, complete with hot-tub for enjoying post-ride beers and delicious homemade meals. Eight-days from $2,535 USD. Departures available July 8 – 15, 2017 and August 19 – 26, 2017.
Secret Trails of British Columbia
Welcome to Canada’s mountain biking mecca where riders can experience some of the most incredible, spine-tingling trails in the world. Known for doing things a little differently, H+I Adventures has enlisted the help of local legends to design a week-long route that includes British Columbia’s bucket-list biking spots and insiders-only singletrack.
From the Sunshine Coast and Squamish to Pemberton, the Whistler Valley and even into the bike park, advanced mountain bikers follow the lines of their guides and learn to ride B.C. like a local. Eight-days from $2,430 USD. Departures available July 8 – 15, 2017 and September 9 – 16, 2017.
