Reserva Conchal Named Best Course in Costa Rica by Golfweek, Golf Digest

Reserva Conchal Beach Resort, Golf & Spa – the luxurious resort on Costa Rica’s scenic northwestern Pacific coast – announces its Robert Trent Jones II designed golf course was named the top layout in the country by Golfweek and Golf Digest magazines.

In its annual list of the best courses in the Caribbean and Mexico, Golfweek tabbed Reserva Conchal 30th, a two-spot jump from 2017. Reserva Conchal’s top-30 showing makes it the No. 1 course in Costa Rica. According to Golfweek, each year “more than 850 course raters survey more than 3,600 golf courses, grading each nominated course based on Golfweek’s 10 strict standards of evaluation.”

Golf Digest ranked the top courses in 206 countries, with Reserva Conchal at the top in Costa Rica. The publication has been rating golf courses around the world since 1966, and boasts nearly 1,000 raters and approximately 2 million subscribers.

“The Guanacaste region of Costa Rica is fast becoming a golf destination, and we are thrilled two major golf media giants chose our course as the best in the country,” says Carlos Rojas Soto, Director of Golf of Reserva Conchal. “Our standing is a testament to the entire golf experience at Reserva Conchal, and shows the golf course is appealing to both the vacationing golfer and the better players.”

Jones II’s brilliant routing meanders between the azure Pacific Ocean waters and lush greens of the neighboring “dry” tropical forest, exposing players to myriad elements. The sporty par-71 track features breathtaking ocean vistas with unforgettable holes winding through lakes, rugged ravines and rolling hills.

Reserva Conchal was the first course in Costa Rica bestowed certification by Audubon International. It boasts a world-class practice facility and learning center with four green complexes, bunkers, chipping and approach areas, and an expansive practice tee. Single- and multi-day golf clinics are offered, including the PGA TOUR Academy featuring certified instructors from famed TPC Sawgrass.

The golf course also is the site for the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica Essential Costa Rica Classic. Reserva Conchal hosted the inaugural tournament in 2017, which was Costa Rica’s first PGA TOUR event in more than 30 years. The 2018 tournament – sponsored by the Costa Rica Tourism Institute – will take place May 7-13.

Golfers have access to a wide spectrum of premium vacation residences at Reserva Conchal, with a variety of floorplans, bedrooms, amenities and settings. The luxurious, all-inclusive Westin Golf Resort & Spa Playa Conchal is nestled along a pristine stretch of white sand beach. The ultimate in elegance, the Westin features numerous restaurants, pools, fitness center and personal concierge services at the Royal Beach Club.
