Visit Disneyland Resort: MagicBand+

Not too many people had  MagicBand+  at Disneyland Resort, from what I noticed, but that didn't stop us from getting them.   You can use the MagicBand+ to scan into the entry gates or scan your Lightning Lane passes.  No need to take out your phone and open up the Disneyland app or your photos app for a screenshot of your admission ticket or Lightning Lane pass.  It's easy to sync the MagicBand+ to everyone in your party through the Disneyland app. It's rechargeable, and one full charge is supposed to last 1-3 days, but we'd charge them at the end of each night. Another fun thing about the MagicBand+ is that it'll blink and flash in all sorts of colors depending on where you are, whether at certain rides or shows.  You can also use to link PhotoPass photos and other experiences. It's totally not a necessary thing to have, but it's a nice-to-have for the convenience.   One thing I did read prior to getting them is that they have a tende...

Visit Long Beach: Kavika's Grill & Bar

After visiting the Aquarium of the Pacific, we decided to walk over to The Pike at Rainbow Harbor to find somewhere to eat, and after seeing a sign for a Kids Eat Free promotion (Free Kids Entree with any Adult Entree Purchase of $12 or more) at Kavikas Grill & Bar, we knew we couldn't pass that deal up!

I ordered the Kavikas Club.

The above is what I was originally served - the sandwich had pineapple and some kind of deli meat - nothing at all like the club sandwich that I ordered, so I had to send it back (I took the picture first and then I realized my sandwich wasn't supposed to come with pineapple on it).
After waiting a while the Kavikas Club finally was served.

It was really good (served on King's Hawaiian Sweet Bun) and filling - I could barely finish half of it.  The fries were really good too.

DH ordered the Spicy Korean Beef Sizzling Wok.

He said it was pretty good even though it was not that spicy.

DS1 ordered his fave - Macaroni & Cheese.
I liked that it came with apple slices!

DS2 had the Kids Chicken Fingers.

Of course, being from Hawaii, we couldn't help but think about the possible Hawaii connection and inspiration for the name (using a "v" instead of a "w" to prevent mispronunciation) and menu (there were lots of items typically found in Hawaii, such as Mahi, Kalua Pork, Chicken, etc.).

Although I thought the service was quite slow (in fact, after we were seated we heard one employee tell our host to not seat anyone else until they were "all caught up"), and they messed up on my sandwich, the service was pretty good. the ambiance was nice, and the food was good - and of course we loved the Kids Eat Free Deal!
